Free On-Demand Streaming (Nov 20-22)
We’ve been dreaming….
What if we could change the conversation around marriage in our country? What if we could re-frame marriage as something good and healthy and do-able? Instead of something that’s destined to fail or out-dated. And what if you could be part of that, starting with the marriages in your church and community?
That’s our invitation to you as pastors and leaders and HomeBuilders.
This November we’re inviting couples and churches across Canada to dedicate one day to one great goal — to build marriages that stay together for good.
On the weekend of November 20-22nd, we’re launching a new, updated version of Together for Good, a five-part video series taught by Neil and Sharol Josephson, the directors of FamilyLife Canada. And for the opening weekend, we’re offering the video streaming on demand for free! It’s a custom-built mini marriage conference for you to utilize in strengthening the marriages around you. And perhaps your own at the same time!
Couples have the option of streaming the sessions from the comfort of home or from the luxury of a hotel room (we’ve even arranged special hotel rates – Learn More).
If you’re looking for a way to build into your friends’ marriages, why not pass on the news of this free offer? Even better, gather a group from your church or community to do the series together online (or in person, adhering to health guidelines). Our facilitator’s guide will make it easy.
Each session provides helpful tools and guided conversations for couples to move past differences and drift to a place of greater closeness and trust. They’ll strengthen the foundation of their relationship in the important areas of communication, conflict, sex and spirituality.
Join us for this one day, national event to help Canadians rediscover how incredibly good marriage can be — for our own relationships, for our families, for our churches and for our country.
Doing this on your own as a couple? Visit this info page.
The workshop is organized into 5 sessions ranging from 40 to 60 minutes long.
Session One – Together for Good
Sharol and Neil highlight the great good that comes from staying together for good — how it’s good for couples, kids, communities and country. Next, they introduce two forces — Differences and Drift — that couples must learn to navigate and counter as they journey together.
Session Two – Together for Good Tools
Neil and Sharol dive into how to manage Drift and provide couples with communication tools to grow a deeper connection.
Session Three – Together for Good Tools
Neil and Sharol unpack how Differences often lead to conflict. Couples are guided in how to identify their areas of conflict and they’re given communication tools to resolve conflicts while learning to appreciate their differences.
Session Four – Together for Good | A Good Gift
Sharol and Neil guide participants in understanding the dynamics of their sexual relationship and provide a process for them to think helpfully about where they are at and how they might grow in physical intimacy.
Session Five – Together for Good | Forever
In the final session, Sharol and Neil begin by simply presenting Jesus’ invitation to follow him and to make him the centre of our marriage and families. They explore spiritual differences in the second half and suggest ways couples can be Together for Good spiritually.
How To Run Together for Good
1) Attend the training webinar.
This one-hour gathering on Oct 22 (5pm PT) will give you a blueprint on “How to Host a Together for Good” and will conclude with a Q&A period. By registering here you can join live or watch the replay afterwards.
2) Decide how you want couples to participate.
There are three main possibilities:
- Gather a group of couples to experience the sessions in person while adhering to provincial health guidelines.
- Suggest couples stream the sessions from home.
- Encourage couples to stream the sessions while they get away for the weekend. We’ve arranged special discounts at these select hotels.
You may wish to emphasize one of the above options or present them all to the couples in your group.
3) Start inviting couples.
In partnership with your church, here are some easy ways to spread the word:
- Share this slide during your next church service (making sure to explain how your church will hold the event), or here are two other slide options if you want more room to add your own details: “One Day Could Change Your Marriage” slide and “National Day for Marriage” slide.
- Share this Facebook post (or make your own).
- Send an email, personally inviting another couple and include a link to this registration page.
- Send an email to your church’s contact list, making sure to include a link to this registration page.
- Sign up for the FamilyLife Newsletter (see button near the footer of this page). That way you can forward promo emails about this event to others.
If couples will be streaming the conference on their own, please ask them to register through our website. That way you don’t have to worry about passing on the free streaming link and they’ll be emailed personalized tips for making the most of their experience.
Here are two schedules to consider which could work for couples participating from home or while away. If you are planning an in-person gathering, we suggest using the One-Day Option below as a template. Please customize as you see fit.
